After moving to Seattle several years ago, we fell with the Pacific Northwest.  We love that you can be in the middle of nowhere and yet you are still so close to home.  So we bought a piece of property in Brinnon, WA.  It is a few miles inland from the Hood Canal and has some views of the Hood Canal and Mt Rainier (though it’s mostly hidden behind the trees at this point).

Our dream is a simple cabin to enjoy and share with our friends and family.  We are trying to do a lot of the work on our own.  We’ve hired a local builder to do the exterior of the building and get us to the weather proof phase.  We plan to do the interior ourselves.  What an adventure this will be!

While we prep to do the interior we are also working on the land.  The property was timbered about 30 years ago, so the forest is young and needs some keeping.  We have trials to build and lots of exploring to do.
